Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician is a supportive person to the Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Department whose technical duties parallel those of the Pharmacist and are performed under Pharmacist supervision. The Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility in the unit-dose, outpatient, sterile admixture, and floor stock areas under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Assists the pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood; types labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties. Pharmacist supervision does not require continuous observation, however, there must be a final Pharmacist check of all technician work involved in the preparation and/or dispensing of drugs.
Hours: Variable Shifts 06:00-14:30 OR 13:30-22:00
One (1) year related pharmacy experience and/or training or graduate of certified training program/healthcare career college (preferred)
Current State of California Pharmacy Technician license (required).
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (required).
Basic computer knowledge (required)
Knowledge of automated pharmacy systems (preferred).
IV Laminar Flow Hood experience (preferred).
