The Pharmacy Technician II performs technical functions of drug distribution for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services under the direct supervision of licensed Clinical Pharmacists or Pharmacy Technician III and assists Pharmacists/Managers in the supervision of Pharmacy Technician I and Pharmacy Externs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Basic pharmaceutical compounding skills (sterile and non-sterile)

Understanding and acting in accordance with the laws pertaining to confidentiality

Navigating complex processes and systems

Assisting in maintaining an efficient workflow

Filling prescriptions, maintaining inventory, cash register/point of sale transactions

Entering prescription orders into a computerized system

Providing excellent customer service to all

Filling outpatient prescriptions

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Required:


1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Illinois.

2. Any one of the following that equals six (6)months:

A. Successful completion of a formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.

OR

B. Work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.

3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience as a pharmacy technician.
